Accountability: This position reports to the Vice President of Operations
Summary: The Director of Operations is responsible for managing all facets of the manufacturing process within our Pennsylvania locations to ensure optimal safety, quality, cost and production efficiency. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership of the manufacturing department to achieve the company’s long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee all aspects of the operations within the manufacturing units in a multi-location, multi-shift operations structure
Develop and implement efficient & cost-effective manufacturing strategies using quantitative and qualitative metrics to drive success
Collaborate with department heads to set operational goals and ensure they align with overall business objectives established by the executive team and board of directors
Process Improvement
Coordinate efforts within operations to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes
Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase productivity
Foster an environment of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and the use of current technologies
Utilize data analytics tools to provide actionable insights to senior management
Safety & Compliance
Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all safety procedures and protocols, as well as with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations
Address any issues related to product quality swiftly and effectively
Lead the PA locations towards ISO14001 certification
Quality Control
Ensure that products meet all required standards and regulations
Address any issues related to product quality swiftly and effectively
Partner with the Quality team to drive our systems and processes to meet ISO9001 requirements
Budget Management
Plan, direct, monitor, evaluate and forecast budgets and costs including capital expenditures within each division of operations to achieve financial objectives
Analyze and plan inventory obsolescence with finance, sales, purchasing, planning and product management departments
Monitor spending to ensure it remains within budget while adjusting for operational changes
Customer Focus
Work collaboratively in the development, production, promotion and sale of the business’s products and services

Team Management
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing operational team
Maintain harmony among workers personally or through subordinate supervisors, and participates in the grievance process when required
Conduct performance reviews and facilitate professional development opportunities
Manage staffing requirements, including hiring, training, and succession planning
Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively across the organization
Project a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community

Oversee and direct renovations, reallocation, repairs or changes to all building resources
Communicate and explain new directives, policies, or procedures to Havis team members to explain rationale, answer questions and maintain morale
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field,
Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred
At least 7-10 years of experience in an operational leadership role within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industry regulations
Proven track record in process improvement and team management

Understanding of practices, theories and policies within business and finance
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Employee must be able to lift and move up to 30lbs
Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, walking and standing
Ability to travel up to 10% within a calendar year
Visual requirements Include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus
