Product Marketing Directors are senior-level marketing executives who lead the strategy behind how products are brought to market, positioned, and sold. They typically collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development and lead a team of product marketing staff.
Product Marketing Directors are typically responsible for:
Leading global go-to-market strategy and messaging for new and existing products
Developing positioning that differentiates the product in the market
Applying best practices for product launches, pricing, packaging, and positioning
Collaborating with internal teams to implement marketing strategies
Managing product launches and releases, both internally and externally
Producing content and enablement materials for internal teams
Promoting the product externally through campaigns, press releases, webinars, etc.
The Product Marketing Directors our clients seek typically have:
5 years of experience in product marketing at a Director or Manager level, preferably in SaaS
Experience with end-to-end product launches in a global or mid-market focused B2B product
Managerial skills with a track record of developing teams
Ability to execute cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams
Experience in developing sales and marketing presentations and collateral
Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
