Duties
Oversee the training and work performance of Supervisors and Program Specialists. Assign and oversee program mentors.
Monitor budgets to ensure all programs operate within assigned limits.
Ensure overall quality of programs by conducting bi-annual management audits and implementing changes as necessary.
Meet regularly with Supervisors: provide direction and guidance, promote relationships, and counsel wherever necessary. Complete and present yearly performance evaluations.
Visit residential houses on weekly basis when individuals are in the home to observe interactions, etc. Complete OATS forms after house visits.
Conduct monthly on-call meeting with on-call groups.
Attend outside meetings, trainings, and events.
Attend individual related meetings and review ISPs as the individual’s needs change. Communicate errors and needed changes to the ISP with the individual’s supports coordinator.
Respond to individual and family concerns and assist in their resolution.
Manage time efficiently to meet the needs of the program.
Interview and hire supervisors. Participate in residential disciplines and terminations.
Ensure regular review and accountability of individual’s and program’s petty cash.
Input building maintenance concerns on the maintenance database and follow up to ensure that the program environments are safe and in good repair.
Maintain good working relationships with families/guardians, support coordinators, day programs/schools, advocates, monitoring personnel, other agency personnel, and regulatory personnel.
Ensure adherence to applicable federal, state and county laws, regulations and policies.
Review incident reports, investigate incidents, and take action according to LifePath policies and procedures. Become a certified investigator.
Attend additional meetings as needed in the absence of the Director. Attend individual
meetings (i.e. ISP meetings), serve on committees to promote safety, advocate
for individual needs, etc.
Attend and participate in licensing surveys and enact changes as indicated.
Promote and participate in community involvement activities.
Process all TOTAR requests and maintain a calendar of all scheduled and unscheduled time off by supervisors. Sign all applicable time sheets. Approve MITC records when notified by Payroll.
Act as liaison between nurses and supervisors to ensure optimum medical care for individuals.
Assume responsibilities of supervisors and their residential homes when needed.
Oversee inventory and maintenance of program equipment such as cell phones, vehicles, etc.
Assume on call responsibilities as assigned. Provide timely and effective response to all calls, including
weekends and holidays.
Work with Day Program to ensure continuity of care for individuals.
Work with support departments (Human Resources, Payroll, etc.) to resolve employee concerns.
Become familiar with the CWA union contract to assist in working with the CWA.
Requirements
At least eighteen (18) years of age; valid driver’s license with a three (3) year clean driving record. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift items weighing 50 pounds or less. Satisfactory completion of pre-offer physical examination and applicable background clearances.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Field and 2 years supervisory experience in the field of Mental Retardation or Associate’s Degree in Human Services Field with 4 years experience in field of Mental Retardation.
Excellent reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient in interpersonal relations and communications. Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
