This IT Help Desk Technician will provide senior level assistance to staff for the setup, use, and maintenance of computer related equipment, tools and supplies. It will also ensure all public computers and related resources, in library and at hosted locations, are readily available for easy use by customers.
Job Description
Complete setup, support, troubleshooting and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity for both networked and non-networked hardware, software, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment. Refers more complex issues to other IT staff, library staff or outside technical support as required.
Perform technical duties such as software upgrades and large projects such as computer rollouts.
Maintain current technical knowledge through continuing education activities, self-study, and technical seminars.
Provide standard emergency service on an on-call basis to maximize access and use of library's automated systems by customers and staff.
Run and distribute reports, run other housekeeping programs and perform other maintenance procedures as assigned.
Requirements & Skills Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience using PCs, Macs, and peripheral hardware.
Experience in a networked or Internet-connected environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows required and Microsoft Office applications (or comparable) preferred.
Ability to work effectively with staff and customers in alignment with Our Culture and IDEA.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Computer related college coursework or professional training/certification preferred.
Hours and Scheduling: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week; This position has a schedule of Tuesday-Friday 1:00-9:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
