Responsibilities
OVERVIEW:
Related Affordable seeks a Training and Development Director to spearhead talent development efforts for its national Property Operations teams. This role will be at the helm of enhancing the skills and professional growth of employees across disciplines, driving excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous education. From crafting engaging learning experiences to ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, this role will be pivotal in empowering our workforce and maximizing organizational performance.
The Training and Development Director will be embedded within the Related Affordable business, reporting to the Executive Vice President of Property Operations for Related Affordable, with a dotted line to the Vice President of Talent Development at Related Companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate internal and external resources to plan, develop, and deliver comprehensive training initiatives tailored to the affordable housing platform, encompassing various areas such as compliance (e.g., Project-Based Section 8 and LIHTC), facilities management, Environmental Health and Safety protocols, Fair Housing Equal Opportunity, and financial management
Ensure the timely delivery of training, adapting promptly to regulatory changes, while confirming and reporting on skills attained, tracking certifications and licenses, and addressing any discrepancies or deficiencies
Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to craft compelling and instructive content designed to address identified gaps and enhance the efficacy of training programs to resonate with diverse learner profiles
Manage vendor relationships, including the selection, negotiation, and coordination with training and development service providers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet organizational needs
Seamlessly integrate cultural immersion, company and property history, standard operating procedures, and skill confirmation into a meticulously structured onboarding curriculum, guiding new hires through their initial 30/60/90 days with precision and clarity, and leveraging cross-departmental resources to ensure wide-ranging content
Oversee the ongoing enhancement of a national affordable operations manual, synthesizing best practices and operational protocols to standardize procedures across diverse geographical contexts
Coordinate of all training-related activities, including the dissemination of webinar invitations, establishment of training schedules, facilitation of attendance tracking, and post-training recaps
Employ robust analytics to accurately measure the outcomes of training campaigns, providing actionable insights to inform ongoing optimization efforts and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
Deliver both in-person and WebEx-based training sessions that are easily assigned, executed, and measured
Provide input to enhance the employer brand through training initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism
Ensure the effectiveness of the performance evaluation program, fostering productivity and completeness in assessing employee performance
Establish a clear career path framework, emphasizing individual ownership in defining career trajectories while providing robust support from the organization
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success delivering both classroom and virtual training sessions within multifamily property management
Affordable Housing experience is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development or related field
Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across internal stakeholders, external partners, and industry professionals
Proven track record of introducing innovative instructional design methodologies, tools, and adult learning principles to enhance training effectiveness and employee experience
Strong understanding of multimedia design principles and experience integrating multimedia elements into instructional materials
Proficiency with Learning Management Systems, SCORM and intranet software, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and creating recruitment reports using Excel
Continuous learning mindset with a commitment to staying updated on the latest trends and best practices in instructional design and educational technology
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

COMPENSATION:
• $185k - $210k base salary
• Annual performance bonus
