The Director of Business Development will be responsible for proactive sales targeting, lead generation, and acquiring new 3rd party hotel management contracts. Targeting existing hotel owners and new owners/developers primarily in California, this will be done via action selling, research, and lead networking with hotel brokers, national hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, and Starwood), existing owners/stakeholders, and prospects.
A fundamental measure of success for this role will be meeting key lead generation goals and growth milestones and creating long term sustainable revenue. This position is expected to bring a high level of energy, detail orientation, strong organizational skills, creativity, and a fun, entrepreneurial spirit to DKN Hotels.
3rd Party Hotel Management Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
•Responsible for generating leads and developing new 3rd party hotel management contracts in effort to increase number of hotels operated by DKN Hotels
•Foster strong strategic partnerships that cultivate DKN's culture and values
•Solicit and secure third-party management contracts from individual owners, institutions
•Development and implementation of business plan and action plans
•Assist with PR programs and strategic partnerships to increase DKN Hotels visibility as a premier hotel management company
•Build and grow key trusted relationships with hotel owners, franchisor, investors and real estate brokers
•Ability to assist in completing pro-forma spreadsheets and business plans
•Ability to win confidence and trust of potential clients; sensitive to their needs and customize approach to secure long term contracts and strategic partnerships
•Close on business by showing value propositions and ensure mutual strategic partners that fit DKN hotels culture and values
•Attend industry events, owners' conferences, investment conferences, brand conferences and other key meetings that will build relationships and generate new leads/business
•Works closely with the Marketing Team to promote and grow DKN partnerships and customer base
•Develop action plans that tie to financial goals
•Create new deliverables and closing tools to drive productivity
•Develop knowledge about all pertinent communities where we have interest so we are considered for potential hotel deals, real estate opportunities, city/county RFP's
•Resourceful and creative to source for new opportunities
•Analyze and research business growth and opportunities from existing clients from competitors and prospect list for targeting
•Ensure all timely correspondence that professionally represents the DKN brand
•Apply good judgement in assessing risks and rewards of new business opportunities and understand potential demand on operations and markets
•Be an exceptional communicator and intelligent negotiator. Deploy strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Deep understanding of and living the DKN Hotels culture, vision and values
•Develop Quarterly Action Plans that are approved by CEO that tie to financial, team member engagement, and customer satisfaction goals.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-year experience in hospitality sales & marketing related role, preferably for a hotel broker
Knowledge of agency structure
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Motivated self-starter with optimistic outlook
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, PowerPoint, Publisher, Photoshop and other relevant programs
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
Critical thinking and the ability to succinctly frame up a verbal or written POV that influences leaders, partners and peers
Strong and productive partnerships in and out of marketing, as well as cross-functional team leadership in a collaborative and inclusive environment
Hospitality/Hotel Broker industry knowledge and network of contacts preferred
