Senior Manager of Partner Accounting & Compensation - Chicago - Up to 180k!!!
One of our biggest clients, an elite law firm with global presence (more than 7 offices around the world) in Chicago, IL is looking for a Senior Manager of Partner Accounting & Compensation to join their team. This role offers a mix of onsite and remote work, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Reporting to the Director of Partner Affairs, the Senior Manager of Partner Financial Operations oversees global partner financial management and compensation. This role ensures accurate partner payments, accounting, and reporting in line with partnership agreements, collaborating with various departments to maintain precise calculations and records.
Key Responsibilities:
Support partner evaluations and compensation reviews.
Analyze data for compensation discussions and promotions.
Manage individual and special partner compensation agreements.
Oversee preparation and disbursement of partner payments.
Ensure accurate general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
Approve significant partner payments.
Liaise with the general ledger team on accounting initiatives.
Manage Partner Accounting Systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
Maintain and revise internal control procedures.
Conduct capital account analyses for separating partners.
Communicate with various departments on compensation issues.
Provide reports and analysis to support Firm objectives.
Ensure departmental deliverables are accurate and timely.
Develop and coach staff, participate in hiring and retention.
Perform other assigned accounting duties.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
15+ years of experience, including 5+ years in management.
Strong technical and analytical skills.
Preferred:
CPA certification or candidacy.
MBA degree.
Experience in legal or consulting industries.
