Research Associate, Biology
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $79,000 - $89,500 per year
Location: San Carlos, CA - Onsite Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments.
Effectively presents research findings to the Biology team.
Perform isolation and cryopreservation of mononuclear cells from whole blood or tissue.
Assist in maintaining, expanding, and archiving cell lines using aseptic techniques.
Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Perform routine quality control procedures and schedule maintenance and certification of laboratory equipment as needed.
Maintain the highest quality standards in compliance with safety and environmental precautions.
Collaborate with Finance and maintain accounting for laboratories, such as purchase order requisition, laboratory budget querying, and maintaining vendor relationships.
Collaborate with the HR and Safety teams to implement federal, state, and local COVID workplace protocols.
Managing biohazardous waste and chemical (CO2 and LN) streams, including safety checks and equipment inspection.
Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
1-2+ years of practical lab experience in an industrial or academics
Background in immunology, cell biology, or related discipline.
Experience with mammalian cell culture and PBMC isolation
Flow cytometry experience is preferred
Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and safety.
General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master scientific applications.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Able to work independently while effectively interacting and collaborating in a team environment.
