About the Role
The Company is in search of a VP, Biology and Translational Research to play a pivotal role in leading the discovery biology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of target identification, discovery, and pre-clinical development, with a focus on building a robust pipeline for the development of innovative medicines. This leadership position demands a strategic and visionary scientific leader with a strong background in biological, biochemical, or related fields, and a Ph.D. with over 15 years of experience in biotechnology and pharmaceutical drug discovery R&D. The VP will be expected to provide creative and innovative leadership, build and manage a high-performing team, and ensure effective collaboration between various scientific disciplines to advance the technology platform and deliver new clinical candidates.Basic qualifications for this role at the company include a proven track record in target discovery and validation, cell biology, assay, and model development, and a strong focus on using cutting-edge technologies to gain deep insights into disease biology. The ideal candidate will have therapeutic domain expertise in areas such as hematology, immunology, and metabolic diseases, and experience with advanced peptide display technologies. Extensive experience in CRO management, a publication record in top-tier journals, and excellent leadership and communication skills are also essential. The VP will be expected to design and lead research projects, manage budgets and resources, and expand the company's external network of advisors, establishing deep domain area expertise in relevant program areas.
