Job Overview:
A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a seasoned Labor and Employment Litigator to join their team as either a Partner or Of Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of employment matters, advocating for management-side clients, and providing strategic legal counsel.
Duties:
Conduct thorough legal research and stay abreast of relevant case law and legislative developments.
Develop and execute comprehensive case and litigation strategies.
Draft a variety of legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, motions, and appeals.
Take and defend depositions as part of the discovery process.
Oversee all aspects of discovery, including the utilization of electronic evidence.
Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and expert witnesses to formulate effective case strategies.
Advocate zealously on behalf of management-side clients while upholding high ethical standards.
Anticipate, prepare for, and participate in trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
Manage cases from inception through trial, handling all phases of discovery.
Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals in litigation tasks.
Develop and nurture client relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the California Bar.
Minimum of 8 years of focused experience in employment litigation.
In-depth knowledge of federal and California state employment laws.
Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, including supervising associate and paralegal work.
Proficiency in directly engaging with clients on various employment-related matters.
Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities.
Education and Certifications:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the California Bar.
