A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:

The VP Marketing & Communications role at DEKRA North America is a critical leadership position within the organization that leads marketing and communications for the US, Canada, and Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for B2B marketing and communications, a strategic mindset, the ability to build and lead a high-performing team, and a proven track record of success in developing and executing marketing strategies, including digital marketing, events, demand generation, reporting, and campaign lifecycle optimization. In this role, you will report to the SVP of Sales and Marketing for North America, leading a team of employees and freelancers to lead marketing strategy development and implementation, oversee campaign and content development, manage lead generation and demand generation efforts, coordinate internal and external communications, and collaborate with regional and global teams.

What You’ll Do:

Marketing Strategy and Implementation

Develop performance-based, B2B marketing and communications strategies to drive lead generation and support DEKRA’s booking, revenue, and EBIT goals in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Secure feedback from different stakeholders and levels within the organization, translating global and regional priorities into effective marketing and communications strategy and plans.

Create coherent and comprehensive marketing plans that leverage digital media, content, thought leadership, webinars, events, trends, and best practices to support service-level business goals.

Lead a team of full- and part-time employees, as well as freelancers and contract workers as they execute marketing communications plans that support overall marketing strategy, as well as global, regional, and divisional priorities.

Leverage Salesforce and other tools to evaluate marketing activities, optimize plans, and develop recommendations.

Demand Generation and Events Oversee an experienced Demand Generation team, shortening the MQL à SQL à Quote process for DEKRA’s largest, most complex opportunities.

Lead the team responsible for implementation of DEKRA’s annual Safety in Action conference, trade show participation, speaking engagements and other events.

Communications Oversee collaboration with the Corporate Communications team on the Public Relations plan, balancing corporate and regional priorities.

Oversee internal communications strategy and implementation in collaboration with the HR team

Manage internal communications resources (staff and freelance), including the Employee Portal

People Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of full-time and part-time employees including business line specialists, digital specialists, the Demand Generation team, the Events team, and the Salesforce Administrator

Structure the team to address the changing needs of a growing organization, filling gaps with external and/or contract help

Manage dotted-line reporting structures

Collaboration Participate in cross-functional teams focused on specific growth initiatives, including, but not limited to e-commerce, go-to-market plans for new solutions, corporate focus areas, etc.

Negotiate and manage supplier relationships

Support strategic mergers and acquisitions, effectively transitioning brand equity to DEKRA.

Oversee service marketing including launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support.

What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, PR, or other relevant fields of study.

15+ years’ experience in an ad agency, in-house marketing team or similar role that includes both strategy development and program implementation across multiple campaigns, projects, and stakeholders.

Experience managing B2B strategies, campaigns, and content across digital communications platforms.

Experience partnering with HR to develop effective internal employee communications initiatives.

Resourceful, strategic thinker who works well in cross-functional team environments.

Thrives in a highly matrixed organization, with the ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence different teams within the organization.

Excellent leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and timelines for integrated marketing initiatives.

A player/coach who can jump in and support the team where needed.

Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, quickly adjusting to changing priorities while ensuring marketing supports short- and long-term business goals.

Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience leveraging MarTech tools including, but not limited to, CRM (Customer Relationship Management systems, Salesforce preferred), marketing automation tools (Marketing Cloud is a plus), Website CMS (Content Management Systems), Social Media Platforms and Google Analytics to implement and optimize effective marketing programs.

Physical Considerations: Ability to work in a general office environment

Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephone

Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed

Ability to lift 25-50lbs (luggage)

Travel Considerations: Domestic and/or international travel required, estimated up to 20%

What You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:

Compensation:

DEKRA North America’s compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets The base pay for this position ranges from $175,000 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $225,000 annually in our highest geographic market. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
