Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated glassware specialist to provide critical lab support. The glass wash team provides a centralized service responsible for dirty pickup processing and clean delivery of laboratory glass. Glass must be inspected to ensure all pieces are visually cleaned before returning to customer locations. A successful candidate should have great attention to detail outstanding organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and be able to work independently.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Assist in Standard Operating Procedures SOP Development
+ Mentor/Train new team members
+ Work with team lead to develop process improvement initiatives
+ Pick up and deliver glass ware and plastic ware.
+ Observe the established procedures for the handling and transporting of glassware and contaminated items.
+ Operate autoclaves for decontamination or sanitization.
+ Operate glassware washers dry heat sterilizers and ultrasonic baths
+ Maintain temperature chart recorders/ equipment forms and use proper documentation.
+ Perform routine inspections/checks on glass wash and autoclave equipment
+ Prepare items for sanitization including glassware caps and related articles employing procedural steps during the process.
+ Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects.
+ Routinely checks inventory of glassware notifying Site Manager of deficiencies.
+ Provide housekeeping of glassware processing areas.
+ Follow all procedures in performing all aspects of glassware processing.
+ Perform monthly de-scale and routine maintenance.
+ Use Good Documentation Practices GDP for all paperwork.
+ Observe all safety precautions and be proactive in raising safety and operational concerns.
+ This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services.
+ Will be required to cross-train and back-up other lab support areas as needed.
+ Demonstrates appropriate use of relevant equipment/software after training.
+ Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety security environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.

Skills Needed:
+ Ability to follow oral and written directions.
+ Effective interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
+ Technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a scientific field OR Associates degree in a scientific field with 2 or more years of experience in a related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Previous glass wash experience preferred
+ Prior Mentoring experience
+ Experience creating SOPs
+ MS Office Skills: Outlook PowerPoint Word.
