About The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Senior Product Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Integra is providing compliant products to its rapidly growing markets and their ever evolving requirements. In this role you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and standards in the cosmetic hair care/personal care industry.

Duties and Responsibilities Assist with development and execution of regulatory strategies and plans to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Assist with planning and development of internal and consumer testing and interpret data for claims support, as well as take part in marketing activities for packaging or advertising approvals.

Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable steps for the brand.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Marketing, Operations, Quality and Sales to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met throughout the product life cycle.

Conduct thorough research on existing and evolving regulations, standards, and guidelines related to cosmetic beauty products in the US and international markets including MoCRA, OTC, GMP, Prop 65, REACh, and UL Std 859 and stay up-to-date with regulatory changes.

Conduct risk assessments and co-develop mitigation strategies to manage regulatory risks.

Evaluate the quality & compliance of our cosmetic beauty products by auditing a nominated product’s safety, regulatory, structural, functional, and aesthetic features including ingredient analysis, safety assessments, and label reviews, warnings, and claims.

Create comprehensive product quality inspection plans to identify and address defective goods incoming to the distribution center from vendors.

Regulatory reviews of raw materials and product formulations, including evaluating chemicals for safety, efficacy and regulatory compliance with U.S. and international regulations.

Review and approve raw material/alternate sourcing qualifications.

Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive records of all compliance-related documents, including product formulations, safety data sheets, and test reports.

Product Registration: Manage the product registration process in accordance with regulatory requirements in different markets, including submissions to relevant authorities when necessary.

Manage Product Compliance Trackers and Databases

Review and approve product labeling, promotional materials, and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including product development teams, to ensure that regulatory requirements are incorporated into the development process.

Monitor and track regulatory compliance metrics and provide regular reports to the Director of Engineering.

Qualifications Professional experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science.

Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, engineering, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.

High energy and high capacity to handle multiple priorities under time-pressure.

5-7 years of Cosmetic Regulatory Affairs experience preferred.

3-5 years of electrical appliance regulatory affairs experience preferred.

Strong computer skills (PowerPoint and MS Excel).

Strong knowledge of US and international regulations and standards related to cosmetics and hair care products.

Proven track record of successfully developing and executing regulatory strategies and obtaining regulatory approvals for products.

Experience in interacting with regulatory authorities and managing regulatory inspections and audits.

Excellent understanding of the product development process and the ability to apply regulatory requirements to each stage.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications Previous hands-on formulation or packaging development.

Previous brand and/or supply chain experience.

Cross-functional leadership/project management experience.

Experience with presentations to senior leadership.

Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, entrepreneurial environment that requires the high initiative and ability to self–prioritize business tasks.
