Your Opportunity as the Lead Analyst, IS Business Analysis – Enterprise Sales, Marketing & Analytics
The role of the Lead Business Analyst on the IS Solution Enablement Team (Enterprise Sales, Marketing, & Analytics) is to actively interface between the JMS Sales, Marketing, and Analytics Business Customers and Information Services. This role must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Business Analysis and the ability to coach and lead others on the skills required to serve as a liaison between the Business and Information Services: translating needs and requirements related to business process and systems from a business perspective into a form that can be understood and acted on by the IS team tasked with building the solution. Strong project management skills will also be important. This hands-on position requires limited guidance, strong relationship building, a customer service mindset, excellent communication skills, problem-solving ability, critical thinking, and a commitment to quality deliverables.
Location: Orrville, OH (Close proximity to Cleveland/Akron)
Work Arrangements: Hybrid ~25% in office presence
In This Role You Will
Cultivate relationships and learn the business:
Builds positive, trusting relationships with business customers and develops a deep understanding of what they need.
Fosters strong collaborative relationships with IS team members and engages them in helping to solve business problems.
Understands the data landscape and systems in the business area, including security and compliance obligations.
Deliver Project Work
Supports business areas with new project generation while constructively challenging ROI and connection to business and technical roadmaps.
Consults with business SME to document existing process and business capabilities, research best practices and propose future process in the spirit of continuous improvement.
Defines business requirements based on translation of business needs and gaps collaboratively with the SME leading to Functional Design.
Leads and/or creates deliverables such as business process flows, what’s changing, business requirements, test plans, test scripts, cutover plans, key learnings, and project plans.
Creates functional designs in collaboration with development teams. Able to identify appropriate actions and interprets guidelines that have been provided to address a challenge, acting as a champion to ensure delivered solutions meet the functional design.
Highlights process changes and provides input on potential impact to the organization and/or roles and leads People Change Management deliverables.
Leads testing efforts on large, complex projects.
Gain agreement on and monitor stakeholder engagement during various project phases/activities.
Identify the appropriate measures to assess solution performance and validate the performance measures selected with key stakeholders.
Models best practices regarding audit and security controls.
Manage Medium To Large-size Projects
Manages functional projects supporting multiple business areas with complex dependencies.
Manages projects implementing new technology or capabilities.
Models the use of standards and methodologies around business process, project management and change management.
Effectively manages the project triple constraint (Scope, Time and Cost) in balance with risk and quality.
Support And Maintain Existing Things
Identifies the need for and facilitates development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Facilitates business process improvements through discussion, facilitation, process modeling, etc.
Ensures delivery of IS service performance in accordance with agreed-upon metrics.
Develop Other BA’s
Guides and mentors others to help advance business analysis within Smucker as a discipline, practice and profession.
Serves as a contributor in the BA COE, seeking opportunities to lead change and share knowledge broadly.

Minimum Requirements
What we are looking for:
5+ years of relevant work experience with either a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or specialized training (including on-the-job)
You have worked in Cloud application development (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure Cloud)
You have worked with SaaS implementations, including complex integration development
You have developed strong team relationships, based on trust and collaboration
You have excellent communication skills and are willing to constructively challenge and actively listen while influencing and shaping outcomes
You manage and facilitate successful, efficient meetings
You are self-directed, proactive, and able to define, prioritize and execute work independently
You know and can learn technical systems from a business need standpoint
You have experience creating deliverables such as business cases, business requirement documents, and project plans
You have experience leading project management activities with a strong understanding of project management methodology.
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):
Prior experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, Marketing Operations or Information Services
Prior experience supporting Sales & Trade Promotion Management Systems
Experience with vendor and solution analysis/selection
Experience facilitating and leading business process modeling and change management activities
Experience leading or influencing Data Governance processes
