The Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Temporary Facilities Manager. This position works under general supervision of the Vice Chair, Administration & Finance.

This position can be between 50% - 100% FTE.

The Facilities Manager manages all phases of project development for large and/or complex department facility improvement projects. The incumbent manages and coordinates the activities of a designated project with a specific timeframe and funding amount to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within specified timeframe and funding parameters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.)

Facilities Management: 60%

• Coordinate facilities renovation and remodel projects, facilities maintenance, space assignment and space utilization for offices and work areas.

• Process facilities service requests/work orders for repairs, maintenance, and minor remodeling of office/lab space and equipment (including HVAC) for UW departmental space. May include light cleaning of workspaces.

• Coordinate moving/relocation of faculty and staff, furniture, equipment, telephones, computers, with movers, physical plant, vendors, and other necessary parties.

• Monitor compliance with EH&S and related offices on appropriate space use, fire safety, etc.

Special Projects Management: 30%

• Manages all phases of project development for large and/or complex facility improvement projects.

• Assist with a variety of special projects, surveys, reports, and related duties as assigned. Special projects include standing desk implementation, department signage upgrades, hallway and conference room renovations, etc.

• Positions in this classification may perform all or some of the responsibilities above and all positions perform other related duties as assigned.

Self/Team Development: 10%

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in management, facilities management, etc. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

• 2+ years of project management.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures.

• Knowledge of UW policies, contacts and practices.

Work Environment:

• Schedule is normally between the hours 8a to 5p, M-F but is not always fixed and workload does vary. The incumbent¹s first responsibility is to complete tasks rather than keep to a fixed schedule. Flexibility in schedule and intensity of work is necessary.

• This is a temporary 12-month Project position.

• Travel between sites will be necessary by UW Health Services or other shuttles.
