YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT

The Payroll Specialist is a part of our Payroll and HR Team and is responsible for providing complex administrative and accounting duties necessary to prepare bi-weekly multi-state payroll. This role is a mix of ongoing payroll responsibilities and payroll support for our Prometheans.

Payroll Responsibilities: You’ll work closely with the Payroll Manager to assist in the preparation of bi-weekly payroll for our California, Oregon, and Washington Prometheans, including reviewing timesheets, processing Personnel Action Notices and reviewing the accuracy of payroll data entry and calculations. You'll oversee all phases of the payroll processing including the accuracy and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for all Prometheans. Process and print termination checks in accordance with state laws and distribute payroll checks bi-weekly as needed.

Reporting Responsibilities: Your organization and detail-oriented style come into play as you prepare and maintain our vacation, sick and charge-out reports (among others). You also act as the payroll contact for employee inquiries and assist in audits when necessary. You will assist in payroll related analytics and ad-hoc reporting.

General Duties: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll functions and resolve their queries related to payroll system in a timely manner; assists with audits when necessary; distribute payroll checks bi-weekly to all field employees.

HERE'S MORE OF THE NITTY-GRITTY:

Our Payroll Specialist possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities and is able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, Certified Payroll Professional a plus.

4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.

Experience with ADP preferred.

Knowledge of Federal, California, Oregon, and Washington labor, tax, garnishment, and payroll laws with good understanding of common fiscal procedures.

Experience dealing with payroll calculations, including California wage and hour requirements, incentive pay, bonuses, etc.

Highly proficient in Excel including advanced functions and formulas, pivot tables, macros/VBA preferred.

Ability to be flexible to adjust priorities, multitask, and manage time appropriately in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Strong organization and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail while ensuring security of confidential information.

Excellent ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively across a team.

Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and purpose driven company, focused on brand distinction and experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
