Director of Operations

Manhattan West Enterprise Company (“Manhattan West”) is seeking a Director of Operations to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern and fast-growing investment firm that provides proprietary alternative investments across multiple asset classes including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt, and traditional equity and fixed income portfolios, as well as financial services including wealth management, business management, tax, and insurance services.
This position will primarily be responsible for managing the operations and operations associates of our wealth management and alternative investment divisions.
About this Position:
Located at Manhattan West’s office in Century City, Los Angeles, CA
Fulltime, exempt with three days in the office and two remote
Reports to the Chief Administrative Officer
Responsibilities:
Perform operations duties that support the team in daily business practices, including but not limited to the following:
Manage Operations Associates
Liaison between departments (Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Financial Advisors)
Work directly with C-Suite and upper-level management
Help manage our CRM system (maintenance and updates)
Support Client Associates
Create and update client statements and reports
Manage client portfolio database system
Review fund cap tables before updating portfolio reporting system
Support Chief Compliance Officer with filings and recordkeeping
Troubleshoot issues with custodian systems or client accounts
Develop written policies and procedures for firm across departments
Review alternative investment subscription documents
Identify ways to make firm processes and systems more efficient
Review and approve prospect and client communications
Review and approve client and prospective investor databases
Assist operations team with audits and audit-related requests
Assist with special projects on as-needed basis
Review and approve investor distributions
Communicate with our third-party service providers
Skills:
Must have attention-to-detail, project management skills and the ability to work efficiently on multiple transactions at the same time under tight deadlines
Must possess a professional demeanor, have a strong work ethic and be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Ability to prioritize workload and shift attention among quickly changing priorities
Ability to communicate complex matters concisely and effectively in oral and written form
Excellent communication, presentation, time-management, and organizational skills
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in Client Services or relevant Financial Industry
Minimum of one year management experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Successful completion of background check and pre-employment assessments
Ability to complete the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferences:
Alternative investments experience (venture capital, private equity, private credit, real estate, etc.)
Orion or other wealth management software experience
General knowledge of private funds
Compensation:
Salary range $150,000 - $175,000 based on qualifications and experience
