We are searching for a Director of Sales to serve as the first dedicated sales hire and build a team to suppor t growth nationwide . In this role you will be responsible fo r being out in the field selling software and helping us scale beyond founder - led sales. The ideal candidate has proven , recent field sales experience selling to customers as well as experience scaling sales at early - stage startups.
Responsibilities
Serve as the first, non-founder sales hire prospecting for and closing deals directly with customers and through channel partners.
Recruit, manage, and mentor account executives, SDRs, and other sales staff as the company grows.
Develop a comprehensive Go to Market strategy leve raging mar keting provided leads , as well as sourcing leads individually to achieve revenue and profitability in alignment with company go-to-market goals.
Challenge, motivate, provide direct feedback, and make difficult decisions to ensure team meets annual quota goals.
Maintain complete ownership of sales pipeline and strategy and adapt to typical startup level pace.
Manage KPIs and other performance metrics within the sales team.
Conduct quarterly business reviews and establish meeting and feedback pace for the sales team with sales staff and exec u tives .
Work closely with marketing, engineering and other internal cross functional teams to deliver on quarterly and annual OKRs.
Qualifications
5+ years sales leadership or first-sales-hire experience – a proven track record at successful startups is a major plus .
Experience selling to large industrial asset owners or enterprise is a major plus both through channels and direct to account.
Strong managerial skills including people management, delivering constructive but direct feedback upward/downward/vertically, decision making, and program building skills
Impeccable attention to detail and a record of building fast-paced , performant sales teams that consistently meet quotas, OKRs and KPIs.
Understanding of annual recurring revenue models and sales strategy.
Unquestionable communication, analytical, organization, conflict management, and problem solving skills.
Formal sales methodology training such as Force Management or Sandler
