Genesis Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Business Analyst of Enterprise Reporting to join our IT Application team. The Business Analyst for Enterprise Reporting will play a key role implementing data-driven decision making throughout our organization. By gathering and analyzing data and producing reports and dashboards, the Business Analyst will provide key insights and actionable recommendations to help our leaders make informed decisions. The Business Analyst will help to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our reporting, reducing the risk of errors and improving the speed at which information is available to our stakeholders. You will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices for enterprise reporting and obtaining and maintaining relevant industry certifications in enterprise reporting as needed.
Key Duties:
Gather data from various sources and consolidate it into a single source of truth
Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and works with stakeholders to reconcile conflicting information
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Translate high-level business requirements into technical specifications.
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support business decision-making
Work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports
Continuously monitor and improve the quality and accuracy of reports
Provide training and support to end-users on report usage and interpretation
Conduct an inventory of existing reports to identify redundancies and opportunities for consolidation
Develop a plan for rationalizing and consolidating existing reports, in collaboration with key stakeholders
Implement and manage the rationalization and consolidation plan, ensuring minimal disruption to reporting processes
Document the new reporting framework, including standard definitions and data sources, to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting going forward
Monitor the effectiveness of the new reporting framework, making adjustments and improvements as needed
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices for enterprise reporting
Research and recommend innovative technology and automation for system and application reporting tasks
Multi-tasks; productively and accurately contributes to multiple concurrent projects of varying scope and complexity with minimal supervision.
Identify approaches that leverage existing resources and provide economies of scale
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive industry experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of Enterprise Reporting experience
Experience in Oracle Business Intelligence - Supply Chain Order Management Analytics, Financial Analytics, Procure and Spent Analytics, Manufacturing Analytics
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and insights from large datasets
Proficient in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, COGNOS, PowerBI, OBIEE, Tableau, Crystal, Excel4Apps
Extensive experience in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) – the creation of Business Areas, Workbooks, Subject Areas, Answers
Experience with Oracle BI Publisher - including report development, creation of interactive dashboards, and integrating reports into OBIEE dashboards
Ability to source and link data from different sources including Oracle EBS, SQL Server, Essbase Cubes.
Work experience in logical and physical data modeling, data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and database optimization. Follow change control processes and maintain data security.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Self-starter with critical thinking skills
Ability to problem solve and communicate findings to colleagues and management
Relevant industry certifications in enterprise reporting such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), preferred
Experience developing reports for Oracle R12 AR, AP, GL, OM, OPM, INV, PUR, EAM and Quality, preferred
Familiarity with reporting rationalization and consolidation methodologies, preferred
Experience administering, maintaining, and enhancing a ransomware mitigation strategy, preferred
Experience providing consulting services to Fortune / Global 1000 clients and/or domain experience within relevant industry verticals such as Oil and Gas, Utilities, Manufacturing, etc., preferred
