Human Resources Manager

(Chicago/Hybrid) The Human Resources Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. In this capacity, the HR Manager will be the primary point of contact in the areas of Compliance, Employee Relations, Benefits, Training & Development and Employee Engagement. The manager will serve as the primary resource to staff, overseeing the implementation and compliance of all policies, procedures, employment and labor laws, payroll, total rewards, employee relations and required reporting. This role is integral in moving the organization forward by supporting its employees in a “best in class” workplace.

We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, Labor Relations, or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 7 years’ experience in as a professional human resources generalist or business partner. HR Certification is preferred, but not required. A minimum of 3 years of experience using HRIS, ADP WFN is also preferred.

Employee Relations and Compliance

As Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the organization is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations. This includes adhering to all compliance filings, accurately and on time. The HR Manager will serve as a consultant to other managers and staff on employee relations issues, conducting prompt and thorough workplace investigations, while protecting sensitive information accordingly. During investigations, appropriately document all employee relations matters in accordance with legal compliance and organizational policy and procedures.

Support administrative functions of the department, ensuring data integrity in the organization’s HRIS.

Benefit Management and Administration

As the primary point of contact for employees inquiring about benefits, the HR Manager will be responsible for providing detailed information on everything from group and medical, vision and dental health plans to short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and retirement plans. The manager will also work with our third-party advisors to ensure effectiveness in benefit plan administration in accordance with statutory law changes, which could affect benefit programs and assist with ensuring company compliance.

Performance Management, Development and Training

Oversee the performance management program in its entirety – from creation to execution. The HR Manager will plan and implement profession development and training programs for the organization. The HR Manager will serve as the point of contact for managers and supervisors to provide best-in-class employee relations practices and strategies for development and training.

Project Management, Planning and Reporting

As HR Manager, you will plan and oversee department projects from initial idea to delivery. Having clearly defined outcomes for each project while creating a step -by – step roadmap to ensure success. Gaining the buy-in of all team members to garner support for internal team projects. This position will also develop and maintain HR Dashboards. Provide analysis and reports of HR metrics to leadership as requested.

Supervisory

The HR Manager will directly manage assigned HR team members. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with The Fellowship’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities of managing members of the HR team include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Support recruiting and staffing efforts working with Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist on strategy, position development, processes, and procedures.
