Summary of Role:
The Residential Regional Sales Manager (RSM), Los Angeles, will be responsible for increasing sales in an assigned territory through the growth and development of existing residential dealers,Installing and Non-Installingand recruitment/training of new dealers. This is the primary point of sales contact through the residential dealer channel. To succeed in this role, a Regional Sales Manager must act as an advisor, consultant, and sales/business coach to dealers and drive/recruitnew dealers. They must also serve as a trainer, coach, and mentor to the dealers' sales staff.
The Regional Sales Manager will also act as the dealers' internal advocate while interfacing with marketing, customer service, channel management, operations, logistics, IT, and finance to ensure a best-in-class customer experience. Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager will actively solicit feedback on products and services, collect market intelligence, and drive product/service improvements.
The ideal candidate for this role will reside in Southern California, in an area such as LA/Ventura Countyto oversee the assigned region of LA/Ventura/Santa Barbara Counties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct regular, specific appointments with dealers to communicate key messages
Collect dealer feedback and notes from appointments and submit dealer call sheets for each
Communicate any open or follow-up items to the dealer after appointment in dealer call summary
Schedule and conduct on-site training of the dealers' sales reps relative to product information and in-home selling processes/techniques
Submit revenue forecasts
Attend weekly sales and region-specific meetings
Manage day to day communications with dealersincluding pricing, new products, and other announcements
Solicit, receive, route, follow-up, and resolve dealer concerns and complaints
Solicit dealerfeedback for product and service improvements
Gather market intelligence from dealers and report
Frequent regional travel (25%) to dealer will be required (average 2overnight stays per month)
~2 weeks annually focused on national and regional sales meetings and dealer conferences
Maintain accurate records of customer communication
Track metrics to evaluate dealerperformance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proven, successful experience working with an independent dealer network, both installing & non-installing residential dealers
Must work well independently
Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to thrive in a high intensity, dynamic work environment
Must have an entrepreneurial mindset
Experience working with contractors and Energy Consultants
A strong desire to be a part of a rapidly growing business with an opportunity to progress
Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communications skills; team player attitude
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
In-home/outside sales experience
3 - 5 years of strong experience in solar sales or business development in a high ticket retail market (HVAC, windows, other)
Strong computer skills, including strength in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Please note the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for this position only and in the geographical location noted. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,040/year to $125,000/year. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
