The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology leadership and support to the Georgia Institute of Technology, working in partnership with academic and business units to meet the unique needs of a leading research university. OIT serves as the primary source of enterprise-wide information technology and telecommunications services in support of students, faculty, staff, and researchers.

Job Summary

Provide unit level support in the installation, operation and maintenance of computer systems. Position typically addresses a wide variety of applications often involving highly complex issues, working under general supervision while providing work guidance to lower levels. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: users within assigned unit which can include management, faculty and staff personnel. This position typically will advise and counsel: users and other support personnel. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Install, maintain and upgrade workstation and peripheral hardware and software.

Job Duty 2 -

Analyze and resolve complex workstation, application and server related problems.

Job Duty 3 -

Update desktop software/applications; maintain documentation on installed applications.

Job Duty 4 -

Provide users with assistance in working in specific applications.

Job Duty 5 -

Participate in development of standard operating procedures.

Job Duty 6 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

Two to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Hardware Asset Manager within ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management, build, maintain and regularly update OIT's hardware inventory. Daily responsibility for maintaining the hardware data for all stages of hardware lifecycle to include purchase, assignment to individuals and surplus. Produce reports. Manage inventory of capital and non-capital assets for OIT.

* Model Manager within ServiceNow, ensure hardware models are up to date and accurate as each vendor releases new models.

* Manage the Hardware Loan Agreement form in ServiceNow

* Required training - ServiceNow Training Hardware Asset Management Fundamentals.

* Management of shipping and receiving for OIT.

* Maintain RFTrack for OIT.

*Record information into Workday and ServiceNow as required for all asset purchases for OIT (inventory tagging).

* Manage surplus process for retired OIT equipment.

* Interact with building occupants, unit management, visitors, inspectors, maintenance personnel and vendors/contractors.

* Backup for Facilities Mgr. Sr.

Salary Range: $29.62 - $40.28

SKILLS

This job requires advanced knowledge of and skill in the installation and maintenance of information technology hardware and software, requiring a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures. Included are skills in problem solving, decision making, customer service, system documentation and communications.
