Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is an organization dedicated to promoting, fostering, and perpetuating the game of soccer on the youth level in the Eastern Pennsylvania territory. Our mission is to foster the mental, physical, and emotional growth of the youth in Eastern Pennsylvania through the sport of soccer.
Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Director of Communications at Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer. The Director of Communications will be responsible for overseeing all communications activities, including creating and distributing press releases, strategic communications, media relations, and public relations. In addition, content development and editing of all print and digital publications, website management and development, internal- membership communications/external general public communications and social media. This role will be primarily based in Plymouth Meeting, PA, with flexibility for remote work.
Qualifications
Experience in creating and distributing press releases, strategic communications, media relations, and public relations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Identify media targets, story ideas, and pitch stories to external media;
Develop relationships with the media and other related industry groups
Manage the association’s website on a daily basis, as well as other web-related activities including e-mail newsletters and databases, social networking sites and other online channels in cooperation with the marketing department;
Manage and monitor most aspects of social media, in cooperation with the marketing department;
Further awareness for organization, its members and the brand; Maintain brand standards
Write press releases, advertising and program copy, brochures and other items as necessary;
Edit and coordinate publication of quarterly print magazine, assign articles, and coordinate editorial calendar;
Assist the marketing team in video production for multi-media use
Source, update and maintain distribution lists for programs and events;
Manage related aspects of selected on-site event operations;
Assist in the compilation of overview reports;
Prepare monthly, quarterly informational and statistical releases and financial reports as required;
Assist in the development and enhancement of the membership programs
Other duties as required and assigned.
Experience in the sports industry or youth development is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
