Voip Engineer

Eliassen Group is helping one of our large government integrator clients in the search of a VOIP engineer. This position would be a full time W2 opportunity with benefits. This will also be hybrid and require this candidate to go onsite twice a week in Washington D.C.
Our client will also be sponsoring you for a Public Trust clearance so onboarding could take an additional 4-8 weeks.
Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience, or Certifications:
Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP) and VTC technologies.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP and VTC hardware and software components.
Experience working with and configuring Polycom Virtual Servers and Endpoints.
·Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Knowledge of network concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, and routing.
Security practices and tools for securing VoIP and VTC systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Collaboration and teamwork.
Experience in planning, deploying, and managing VoIP and VTC systems in enterprise environments.
Troubleshooting issues related to call quality, connectivity, and overall system health.
Integrating VoIP and VTC systems with other networking and communication technologies.
Implementing security measures to protect VoIP and VTC systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Cisco CCNA Collaboration or equivalent.
CompTIA Network+ or relevant networking certifications.
Relevant vendor-specific VoIP or VTC certifications.
Job Role Specific Requirements:
Core responsibilities and duties; highlight day-to-day activities:
Design, implement, and maintain VoIP and VTC systems to ensure seamless communication across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess needs, and develop solutions that align with business objectives.
Configure and troubleshoot VoIP and VTC hardware and software components, ensuring optimal performance and call quality.
Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and disruption.
Integrate VoIP and VTC systems with existing network infrastructure and communication tools.
Implement security measures to safeguard VoIP and VTC systems against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Provide technical support and training to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving technical issues promptly.
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in VoIP and VTC technologies, recommending improvements as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Create and maintain knowledgebase articles for use in troubleshooting and resolving common issues.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and system maintenance.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in designing and deploying VoIP and VTC solutions in enterprise environments.
