Clover is seeking an innovative and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team and assist with strengthening financial performance. The CFO’s role is a balance of strategic planner, change catalyst, optimizer and steward of the organization. The CFO will be responsible for understanding Clover’s growth path and helping us plan how to get there while operationalizing our financial growth path. The CFO reports to the COO, and is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, and will interact frequently with the Clover Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement overarching financial strategies that align with business objectives. Actively participate in functional and cross-functional and Executive Teams, shaping key decisions and policies. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost-benefit analyses efforts to support organizational goals. Act as the financial compass for the company, guiding business evaluations, and financial decision-making and contract negotiations.

Reporting: Regularly deliver incisive financial reports. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and oversee fiscal reporting, including financial statements preparation. Oversee Clover’s financial activities, ensuring optimal cash flow while regular communicating our financial position and future opportunities. Lead all contractual financial reporting.

Investment Management: Manage banking and investment functions and vehicles to maximize returns and minimize risks.

Auditing and Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust systems to safeguard financial assets and oversee various financial awards. Supervise independent auditors and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Team Leadership: Cultivate a high-performing financial team. Promote a culture rooted in transparency and ethics.

Governance Support: Support the Financial & Asset Management and Audit Committees of the Clover Board of Directors and Clover Foundation.

Requirements Qualifications and Skills:

Expertise in Accounting: Strong knowledge of accounting and fiscal management with excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

Fund Accounting Proficiency: Skilled in fund accounting principles and effective communication.

Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

Client-Focused: Responsive to the needs of clients, including funding organizations, Clover’s Boards of Directors, and community partners.

Adaptability: Capable of managing multiple deadlines, prioritizing workloads efficiently, and adapting to changing conditions.

Business Acumen: Skilled in fostering business opportunities and partnerships to enhance financial stability.

Role Model: Adherence to agency policies and a commitment to serving as a role model within and outside the organization.

Tech Savvy: Experienced in implementing finance and accounting information technology solutions to support organizational growth along with supporting, coaching and guiding teams in utilizing IT solutions for data-driven and informed decision making

Educational Requirement and Experience:

Minimum of five years of experience in accounting/finance profession or practice at a leadership/supervisory level.

Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance or Business

CPA, CGFM, or CMA certification required.

Direct experience or familiarity with governmental grants/contracts as well as award agreements is a plus.
