DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The purpose of this position is to provide architectural guidance and technical leadership of the Microsoft Active Directory and server infrastructure. Responsible for implementing standard solution for Hyperconverged infrastructure, operating system, required software and management (patching) of the server and storage environment. This includes planning, installation and on-going administration of the associated infrastructure as described above.
Analyze daily operational reports indicating any malfunctions of equipment or applications and identify a solution to resolve the operational issue to improve the efficiency of the operation which will drive improved end user productivity. Monitor network, server, and storage infrastructure and directs corrective actions.
Responsible for implementing standard solution for Nutanix Hyperconverged infrastructure, operating system, required software and management (patching) of the server and storage environment. Review and evaluate security resources to ensure compliance. Responsible for managing, maintaining and monitoring Backup system infrastructure.
The position involves developing the core technical platform, capabilities, and services that support business processes and data including:
+ Mapping the relationships between IT platform/infrastructure components, technology end users, IT Server OS & Hardware)
+ Identifying the key technology interactions and dependencies across the active directory/network/server/cloud/systems/platforms impacting the organization's ability to achieve integration, compatibility, and performance goals.
+ Evaluating total cost of ownership and return on investment of various IT cloud/infrastructure alternatives.
+ Ensure effectiveness of infrastructure by performing preventive maintenance work.
+ Assist in designing and documenting infrastructure processes, procedures, and standards.
+ Ensures infrastructure and data is kept secure by keeping track of assets, developing operational, installation, configuration, and upgrade documentation for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, software, and other computer related systems.
Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Manages moderate to complex service requests through resolution or escalation to another team member by performing work in a manner that minimizes disruption to existing business use.
+ Manages projects / processes, works independently with limited supervision.
+ Works with external suppliers for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant hardware and software. Participates in an on-call rotation with other infrastructure staff; keeps users at all levels of the organization informed of progress or problem.
+ Provides onsite or remote access, diagnoses resolutions to hardware and software problems by responding to service desk requests and planned work requests.
+ Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
+ Plans, manages, and implements infrastructure projects and upgrades.
+ Ensures availability of infrastructure services by implementing, monitoring, and supporting servers, storage, and other services and infrastructure software platforms including but not limited to server / client operating systems, reporting platforms, messaging and database services, network configuration, web proxies and other software-based systems.
+ Serves as technical professional by overseeing a variety of moderately complex analytical and technical assignments.
+ Monitors a variety of hardware, software, and network systems in the existing information technology infrastructure
+ Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results and performing related responsibilities as needed.
+ Provides subject matter expertise and advice for assigned technology and infrastructure systems.
+ Works with external vendors, partners and COH departments.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as computers, printers, or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or stooping, bending, very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis and extensive use of a video display terminal.
There may be sources of discomfort, i.e., outdoor installations, hot/cold temperature and humid/wet conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management and Information
Systems (MIS) or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
At least five (5) years of technology experience supporting IT infrastructure including networks, security, and hardware. System-specific technical certifications will often be required. Greater than 5 years of directly applicable experience may be considered for substitution of up to two (2) years of the education requirement.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
A valid current Texas driver's license
PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to applicants who have extensive knowledge and experience administering Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager. Applicants must articulate through oral and written communication. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct and document an effective needs analysis.
