Job Description Summary
The Estimator is responsible for providing cost estimates on new construction, rehabilitation, alterations, replacement systems, change orders and additional work to ensure that prices charged the Authority are appropriate for the work performed.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Confers with a broad range of technical, professional, and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants, and contractors to coordinate and establish a cost estimate.
Reviews change orders for conformance with Authority requirements and quality standards.
Reviews quantities and types of materials to be included on Authority work (costs of materials, labor, site preparation, methods of performing the work) and the economic factors affecting a project.
May participate in cost negotiations.
Performs related duties, as assigned.

POSTING END DATE: UNTIL FILLED
Salary Range: Appointment Rate: $59,835 - $81,087
Incumbent Rate: $68,810 - $93,250
Subject to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the appointment rate for any newly hired employee, or employees with less than two years of active City or SCA service, shall be 15% less than the applicable incumbent rate or step.
Education
High school diploma or its educational equivalent
Certifications (if required)
Work Experience
Six years of full time technical experience; two years must have been in one of the following estimating areas: architectural, electrical or mechanical/plumbing; the remaining year may have been in any one or combination of technical construction related areas or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
