Job Description
The Vice President, Global Ecosystem Risk Programs, is responsible to define and operate in collaboration with Regional Risk teams, various programs in support of the Integrity and Security of Visa’s payment ecosystem. As both the ecosystem as well as threat vectors evolve, the VP ESI will regularly assess the effectiveness of Visa’s Global Ecosystem risk programs, and adapt, enhance or build where necessary new capabilities. The VP will ensure the programs evolve in line with Visa’s business strategy, and specifically its growth across Visa Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, as well as Value Added Services. The design and ongoing development of Global Ecosystem Risk Programs requires the contribution and expertise of various internal Visa stakeholders (across Risk, Legal, Product, Client Services, … ) as well as external stakeholders.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
Lead the design and ensure strong lifecycle management of risk programs, aimed at driving the Security and Integrity of the payment ecosystem
Maintain and enhance the Vis Integrity Risk Program, which seeks to deter, detect and remediate illegal activity across Visa’s payment network
Maintain and enhance Visa’s Global Acquirer Risk Standards (GARS) and ensure these adapt to evolving risk management practices in the industry
Maintain and enhance Visa’s various Fraud and Dispute Risk Programs which seek to deter and remediate excessive levels of fraud or disputes across Visa’s payment network
Develop an approach to drive lifecycle management of Global Ecosystem Risk Programs, ensuring excellent stakeholder engagement from design to implementation and monitoring
Optimize the design of Risk Programs, by driving clarity of objectives and focus on impact and operational effectiveness
Maintain and further enhance governance, RACI and the operating model covering the deployment of these Programs
Work closely with the regions to ensure Programs are fit-of-purpose for the various markets. Support regional teams in an optimized execution and delivery, by providing tools, knowledge sharing, training, etc. ….
Drive a substantial digitization strategy building out integrated tools and platforms across the various Programs, enabling the ability to connect intel and information across Programs
Work with various internal and external stakeholders to perform periodic legal and risk landscape reviews, and drive changes to Programs where required. Ensure Programs remain fit for purpose and optimized.
Work closely with Third Party Lifecycle Management, that manages the Third Party Agent and Account Information Security ecosystem programs. Drive aligned methodologies and approach.
Develop a strategy for engagement with Advocacy Groups that focus on areas relevant to VIRP. Engage with such Advocacy Groups at senior levels, and drive awareness of Visa’s strategic approach to Integrity Risk Mgt.
Provide updates on Visa Risk Programs to Visa’s Risk Committee, Clients, Regulators, and other stakeholders (Visa’s Board, Investors, … ) when required
Lead, grow and develop a global team of Risk experts that design and operate the Risk Programs and leverage staff at Visa’s Risk COE. Provide leadership to regional risk teams that implement the various Programs.
Develop a sourcing strategy and maintain senior level engagement with Vendors and Partners that contribute to Visa’s Program delivery. Negotiate contract terms in conjunction with Sourcing and oversee vendor performance.
The VP has delegated authority to drive compliance enforcement actions against clients and other parties in Visa’s ecosystem.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
12 years of experience in Risk Management and/or Trust and Safety focused on management of Ecosystem Risks
Knowledge of Visa Rules, Risk Programs and Payment Industry or expertise across the Governance and Risk Management of other Global Ecosystems
Exceptional stakeholder management, with proven ability to bring together a broad group of internal and external experts in design of Risk Programs
Strong presence and domain knowledge, apt at representing Visa on Risk Programs and Integrity Risk matters at senior levels within Visa, at Clients, Regulators, Advocacy Groups and Vendors
Proven ability to lead global teams, including teams that have dual reporting or regional attachment. Proven record in growing diverse, global talent.
Passionate about driving Visa’s mission to develop the best in market program to deter, detect and remediate illegal activity. Sets high standards, and is innovative seeking continuous improvement.
Strong intellect and ability to be strategic in intent/approach, while able to absorb and learn the various aspects required to obtain successful programs (such as Visa Rules, Payment Processing, Legal Requirements..)
Experience in successfully digitizing processes and developing/delivering digitization roadmaps that contribute to operational effectiveness
Excellent communication skills, including on controversial or difficult matters
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 207,300.00 to 285,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
