Senior Business Analyst

A-TEK Inc. is seeking to staff a team of software professionals to build and deploy new systems with web capabilities for our key government customers. You will support engineering teams in the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical applications for our federal client. This position involves working both independently and as an integral part of a team of analysts and developers on multiple projects to build out web-based applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in leading requirements elicitation discussions with stakeholders and documenting requirements and demonstrated experience working on Agile projects as a Lead Business Analyst in a federal environment. This position is REMOTE.
Position Responsibilities:
Identify complex client business and system requirements and translate or decompose those needs into actionable software requirements, test criteria, and scenarios
Analyze complex business and user needs, document requirements, and translate them into proper system requirement specifications
Assesses the operational and functional baseline of the organization.
Establish positive relationships with all stakeholders
Assist with developing the business case and vision
Document the as-is state and to-be state of systems
Elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements
Clearly describe requirements following Agile User Story conventions
Develop, manage, and maintain all work products and deliverables from creation to finalization
Guides and oversees the work of other Business Analysts as assigned
Applies in-depth knowledge to solve business problems and recommends solutions
Create and maintain a hierarchical, feature-driven view of requirements
Create technical specifications and test plans, as assigned
Examine and evaluate current systems to determine and assess capabilities and business rules
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Leads and facilitates system design sessions with business users and client managers
Liaise with users to track additional requirements and features
Train users on new systems, applications and provide support
Required Qualifications:
Requires a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution in a management or technical discipline – Computer Science, Information Technology or Business Management (related degrees and equivalent experience will be considered) and 10-12 years of performing business analysis, including business process and requirements elicitation, and producing documentation and wireframes
Demonstrated experience working on Agile projects as a Lead Business Analyst
Excellent customer‐facing, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem‐solving skills are a must as duties will require interacting directly client team members at all levels
Excellent written and oral communication including technical writing and effective listening skills and customer relationship management; must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
Strong knowledge of IT systems and IT organizations
Ability to learn the functionality of software applications and the elements of business or user processes and write detailed non-coding requirements
Ability to become a product expert and communicate coherently to our customers
Ability to learn and document highly complex business rules and processes
User stories and other SDLC documentation
Ability to work in a highly team-oriented, cross-functional, and collaborative environment
Highly organized and efficient; strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive self-starter who manages competing priorities, multi-tasks, and meets all deadlines and commitments while remaining flexible and adapts to continually changing priorities
Solid computer skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Federal contracting experience supporting HHS, DHS, or VA
JIRA and other backlog/requirements management tools
Experience with the SDLC / EPLC
Experience with data analytics and process analysis using Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) supporting clinical/ambulatory research
Keen sense of the User Experience and User Journey
Technical competency in SharePoint, Microsoft 365, HP ALM, and Balsamiq
