**Summary**

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its Litigation Group. This position is open to the Dallas office and candidates must reside in the Dallas, TX area.

**Education**

+ JD

**Bar Admission**

+ Admitted in Texas

**Responsibilities**

+ Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop and execute effective litigation strategies

+ Conduct legal research

+ Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

+ Conduct depositions

+ Assist with discovery, trial preparation, mediations, and settlement negotiations

**Experience**

+ Minimum of 3 years of complex commercial litigation experience including SEC investigations, publicly traded companies, M&A, and tort litigation

+ Previous state court or federal clerkship a plus but not required

**General & Essential Job Expectations**

**Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements**

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
