Our leading SaaS client is seeking a talented Instructional Designer with expertise in learning technology to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing engaging and effective learning experiences using a variety of technologies and methodologies. Success in this role requires ownership, urgency, and deep curiosity to understand the needs of the business and improve how we develop employees to execute our business strategy and achieve Avalara's ambitious goals.
This role is fundamentally about thriving in a growing and changing environment, focusing on the future, and being able to think strategically yet operate tactically when required. The individual successful in this role will have a proven track record of designing and developing enablement programs globally. You will be working in a cross-functional role that requires collaboration, a deep understanding of instructional design and technology enabled learning tools and methodologies and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with all levels of stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with subject matter experts (SME's) including People Partners, peers, and stakeholders to identify learning and development needs and design learning solutions that align with business goals.
•Design and develop interactive and multi-media-rich eLearning courses, videos, simulations, and other digital learning materials.
•Utilize Avalara's learning management system, WorkRamp, and other technologies to deliver and track completion, adoption, and impact of learning programs.
•Manage the complete content development cycle, including creation, on-going updates, and continuous evaluation for your projects to drive adoption of compelling and engaging learning experiences.
•Provide input and guidance on global L&D strategy delivery roadmap.
•Evaluate and recommend innovative learning technologies and tools to enhance learning experiences.
•Establish and regularly report on baseline metrics for learning engagement, program adoption, and ROI.
Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
o 8+ years of experience in instructional design, with a focus on learning technology
o Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems. Experience with WorkRamp preferred.
o Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
o Experience designing programs with blended learning, micro-learning, and other innovative learning methodologies.
o Familiarity with SCORM standards.
o Experience in graphic design, video production, or multimedia development.
o Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Strong communication and collaboration skills
