Steward Health Care is seeking a double board certified general and colorectal surgeon in the Division of General Surgery at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center (SEMC) in Boston, MA. St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, a Boston University Teaching Hospital , provides patients and families access to some of Boston's most respected physicians and advanced treatments offering specialized care. As a tertiary care center with a 308-bed campus in the heart of Boston's Brighton neighborhood, SEMC is known for its unique physician-owned/led infrastructure and pioneering medical treatment. As a Boston University Teaching Hospital, SEMC has an academic and clinical affiliation with the Boston University School of Medicine. Steward Medical Group (SMG) & Steward Healthcare Network (SHCN), a network of more than 1700 providers, serves as a strong referral center to our program for comprehensive advanced cancer care in collaboration with Dana Farber Cancer Institute, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
Position Summary:
Ideal candidates are double board certified in general and colorectal surgery and have both open and minimally invasive skills in advanced colorectal surgery.
To complement a surgical oncology group with world-renown minimally invasive surgery skills, advanced knowledge in robotic and laparoscopic skills and a deep understanding of multidisciplinary cancer management are important. The candidate should be able to apply minimally invasive surgery techniques to general surgery as well.
Candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, be team-oriented, and embrace educational innovation. Qualified candidates are eligible for an academic appointment at Boston University School of Medicine (academic rank is open and commensurate with experience).
