Position: Project Manager – Corporate Strategy
Hours of Work: Full-time, Exempt
In This Role, You Will…
Drive the planning, development, and rollout of key strategic projects, ensuring they meet the company’s short and long term goals. Will oversee all aspects of the strategic projects, including resources, work plans, and reporting on the projects (progress, risk, and performance). Directly reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will motivate and hold others accountable to achieve quality and on-time results.
Responsibilities & Essential Duties:
Collaborate with department leadership and assigned team members to define, prioritize, and develop projects.
Develop project plans, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
Analyze financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
Provide executive leadership with project updates, financial reports and budget outlines.
Oversee the development of projects, and ensure that team members are accountable to their goals and the company’s standards.
Draft new and improve Mariner’s existing project management best practices (e.g. policies, processes and procedures).
Continuously evaluate projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
Accurately document all aspects of the project throughout its lifecycle, including the project plan (scope, budget, and justification, etc.), development components (owner, task, timeline, etc.), execution.
May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field; additional, applicable years of experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
Five (5) years of experience managing large scale technology projects across a multisite business environment.
Experience in the Consumer Lending and/or Financial Services industry.
Previous demonstrated work experience managing large scale technology projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to explain complex ideas and concepts, both verbally and in writing to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Possess, and demonstrates well, developed analytical and presentation skills to both evaluate information, concepts, and practices and to successfully convey to others in their terms the importance and impact of financial activities on business plans and objectives.
Ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and motivate others to meet deadlines.
Strong sense of urgency, results-oriented with the ability to execute.
Advanced skill in Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Advanced skill with Project Management Software
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Experience with Network, Telecom, Server/Storage, Security, and End User Technologies.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
