Inventory/Tax Analyst

The position reports directly to the head of Inventory/Tax and holds primary responsible for reconciling the organizations liquid fuels inventory balances and processing of the product costs related to the terminals and pipelines. This position also includes responsibilities for processing and supporting the filings of excise tax returns.
**Essential Functions of the job**
Responsible for completeness and accuracy of recording of inventory transactions, including processing of Throughput, Pipeline and Terminal settlement invoices.
Create and manage Blending, Pipeline and Barge Deals in ETRM system (Right Angle). Manage volume valuation rules.
Perform weekly pipeline and terminal activity reconciliations.
Perform month end reconciliations to inventory terminals and pipelines statements.
Assist in coordinating monthly inventory closing activities, includes coordination of processes with other departments.
Effectively work with other team members in performing various inventory and purchase analyses as required.
Verify/recalculation of Inventory WACOG calculations.
Work closely with the Excise tax department members to reconcile inventory volumes for tax returns.
Assist in the filing of Excise tax returns and reconciliations to the GL Tax accounts, which includes preparation of Excise tax returns and reconciliation of inventory balances and movement transactions to the Excise tax returns.
**Minimum Qualification**
Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Minimum 2-5 years experience working in an accounting and/or inventory environment. Inventory and inventory valuation experience a plus. Data analysis and reconciliation experience required.
Proven ability to give strong attention to detail with hands-on approach to daily activities.
Proven strong communication skills (both oral and written) with ability to listen to other and express concepts in a clear, concise manner. Ability to provide relevant and timely information to team members, other departmental resources, manager, suppliers, etc.
Strong computer skills, with expertise in Excel, ETRM systems and DataBase reporting. Experience with Avalara tax software a plus.
Proven ability to self prioritize daily work to meet deadlines, with ability to identify and propose solutions to problems.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate well across multiple functions.
