POSITION OBJECTIVE/SUMMARY:

Director of Facilities & Safety is responsible for the long-range planning, construction and renovations, utility maintenance and operations, safety and fire protection, energy conservation, and environmental control systems of Kedren Community Health Center Inc. Consults on projects to ensure that the integrity of building systems are maintained properly. Actively participates and contributes to Safety, Infection Control, and Emergency Preparedness Committees to ensure compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations. Acts in a consultative capacity for all departmental needs. Work with the respective companies to ensure every effort is made to receive the best rate structures utilizing new technologies. Serve as liaison between departments and contractors. Assure Life Safety Measures are implemented during the construction phase of all projects. Maintain the physical environment in compliance with Life Safety Codes including preparation for and participation in CMS and OSHA compliance survey and maintains the Statement of Conditions. In addition, this position ensures compliance with, OSHPD, OSHA, CALOSHA, and NFPA, accountable to the President/CEO for planning and maintaining an effective organization. Supports Kedren Community Mental Health Center Philosophy. The Director will collaborate with all hospital Department Managers to include clinical, financial, human resources, education, and performance improvement strategies and, managing the day-to-day operations to ensure safe and quality patient care is provided.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering preferred.

Seven to ten years of experience, with five years in healthcare, business, or industrial setting.

An understanding of complex facility issues is necessary, as is the ability to analyze and interpret facility issues and budgets.

Current knowledge of government and regulatory body regulations and codes.

Ability to manage projects and provide oversight of construction projects. Ability to coordinate the work of others and convey information accurately and clearly.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for each department function including preventative and corrective maintenance, construction management, engineering, biomedical, environmental services, security services, transportation and emergency and disaster preparedness.

Directs administrative and task-related projects such as policy development, time and attendance functions, staffing and scheduling, purchasing orders, and CER approvals.

Maintains CMS and OSHA standards.

Maintains Emergency management requirements and compliance.

Ensures effective communication of information as well as ensuring collaborative efforts in providing all services.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION A PLUS

IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800 certifications are a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Seven to ten years of hospital experience remodeling, construction, and project management experience preferred.

Must be able to read and understand construction plans/drawings.
