Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership in developing safety policies, procedures, and practices. Ensuring procedures are in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Staying current with any legal changes and updates.
Develops and manages the administration of the project/company accident prevention efforts.
Safety manager will support project managers, foreman, and field technicians to ensure each site is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of everyone on site. Provide recommendations and assistance with potential job site hazards, employee training, and equipment operation.
Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
Ensure safety completion y reviewing project managers/ foreman's job hazard analysis for major phases of our work.
Ensure new employees have all required training prior to beginning work.
Assist with coordinating job site specific orientations for new employees joining the project
Bring to administration any safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
Maintain safety files and records
Preform safety inspections: written reports of finding along with recommendations for corrective measures. Follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Conduct accident investigation and prepare report identifying the possible cause or hazards. Submit reports to safety director in a timely manner.
Qualifications Minimum 1-3 years field safety manager experience preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. Bachelors degree in safety related field preferred but not required
OSHA outreach training experience preferred but not required
Demonstrates knowledge of fundamentals of construction safety, accident prevention, occupational injury, human factors, risk management, incident investigation.
OSHA 30 Construction Certification
Must be able to lead and communicate effectively. This position will be responsible for communicating with other trades, supervisors, client representatives, and employees.
Be able to work independently
Organization and Detail oriented with the ability to multi task
Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office
