Communications Coordinator- Bilingual

The City of College Park is seeking a full-time Bilingual Communications Coordinator to perform a variety of responsible professional and technical duties in support of the City's Office of Communications and Events.

This person will work with Communications department staff to ensure successful promotion, attendance, and coordination of all City events, services, news, and programs. In addition, they will provide support with all marketing and communication needs related to the City, including article writing and editing for a variety of digital and print publications, email marketing, and maintaining and further expanding the City's social media strategy.

This position will also help maintain and update the City's website and other digital mediums.

The ideal candidate must exercise considerable independence and be well-versed in methods for communicating consistent and timely information about the City's programs, procedures, responsibilities, and activities in English and Spanish.

The qualified person will have:

A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or other related fields

A minimum of three years of professional experience in communications or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Fully bilingual (Spanish)

Advanced professional skills in social media (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, Nextdoor, etc.)

Experience in website management and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Applicants must submit three examples of their work: one writing sample (in both English and Spanish) and two social media posts/reels.

This is a full-time position with benefits, with an hourly range of $26.76 -$28.56 (DOQ). The City of College Park has excellent benefits, including Maryland State Retirement.
