The **Development Connectivity QA / QC Field Technician** is primarily responsible for leading and managing the OSP design, preconstruction and construction activities on a given project(s). The Field Technician will interact on a daily basis with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers, Commissioning Agents, Vendors, and Data Center Operations staff and should have both written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Work in partnership with the Construction and Project Managers to ensure delivery and maintenance of all OSP and connectivity is on time, and up to industry leading standards for quality and reliability.

+ Work with field engineering and PM team to monitor progress and quality of installation within all phases of construction and/or operational tasks.

+ Review, comprehend and implement work as shown in contract documents.

+ Review drawings and report on discrepancies to foster proactive quality control meeting the QTS Basis of Design.

+ Ensure site as-built design documentation is complete and up to date.

+ Coordinate with Development Project Manager and OSP contractors for all materials questions and estimates.

+ Verify all required material types, quantities, cable lengths etc. necessary to complete requested work.

+ Ensure correct mapping of all material counts and characteristics in comparison with construction drawings (general notes) and cable schedules prior to and throughout the duration of the project.

+ Provide oversight to the team for the detailed turn-up schedule, moves, adds and changes, and set project priorities. Ensure rapid responses to high priority builds.

+ Ensure crisp oversight and clear communication across multiple platforms with cross-functional partners and vendors. Proactively communicate progress and project risks and initiatives to key stakeholders.

+ Communicate with stakeholders on site to determine needs and explain complex issues.

+ Diagnose construction issues and resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise.

+ Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.

+ Communication skills, verbal and written.

+ Work with QTS stakeholders, design, and construction teams to create a master development program for site(s)

+ Review change order requests from OSP contractors

+ Establish and maintain relationships serving as liaison with key QTS stakeholders

+ Represent QTS OSP Interests as leader in construction meetings

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Associates or bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or equivalent professional experience

+ Five or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures, including Construction Management methods from conceptual development through procurement to close out

+ Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for use in communicating program updates, and Excel to create and maintain site program

+ Be able to travel up to 25% of the time

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Experience with delivery of mission critical data center facilities

+ Extensive experience with management of MEP trades
