Chief Financial Officer

CGRC’s Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the executive team, providing strategic leadership & oversight of the financial operations for the organization. The CFO is responsible for ensuring fiscal sustainability, financial accountability, & regulatory compliance. The CFO works closely with the executive senior leaders to develop & implement strategic plans & goals that support the organization’s mission & vision.
Additional key responsibilities include:
Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the organization's strategic goals and operational needs. Conduct financial analysis to assess performance, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and grant agreements.
Budget Management: Manage the budgeting process, working closely with controller, program managers, and department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets. Track actual performance against budgeted targets, identifying variances and recommending adjustments as needed.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and management to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing operations and financial stability. Monitor cash balances, investments, and banking relationships to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
Grant and Contract Management: Manage grant and contract funding, including proposal development, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Coordinate with program teams to ensure accurate tracking of expenditures and adherence to third party payors and donor requirements.
Risk Management and Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure the integrity of financial data. Conduct periodic risk assessments and internal reviews to identify areas for improvement.
Investment and Asset Management: Manage organizational investments and assets, including endowment funds, reserves, and capital assets. Develop investment strategies to maximize returns while preserving capital and managing risk.
Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary liaison to the board of directors, finance committee, auditors, and regulatory agencies on financial matters. Provide regular financial updates and reports to the board and other stakeholders, fostering transparency and accountability.
Leadership and Team Development: Lead the finance team, providing direction, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth. Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
