Job Description
The person in this position should be confident that they can rely on technical staff to support various business development efforts, including discussion of business development strategies, gaining technical insights related to a specific client need, and when appropriate having technical staff participate in visits to client or prospects when that approach can help build a relationship or address a client challenge.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain ongoing contact with key clients and prospects to build relationships and determine potential project opportunities.
• Use every client contact opportunity to educate the client about the different ways the company can support clients.
• Support the company's proposal process with insights about project requirements, client preferences, pricing, etc.
• Work with company leadership to identify areas of current and future client development strategies complementary to the company's capability and goals for future growth.
• Support strategies for raising the company's profile through industry rankings, press exposure, and participation in industry events, panels and technical papers.
• Recommend, implement and maintain CRM software needed to manage a growing list of client contacts.

Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business development working for an architectural/engineering firm or construction contractor.
• Experience selling to advanced technology and industrial clients.
• Familiarity and experience with CRM software.
• Strong Microsoft Office suite skills. Experience with database functionality and MS Access is a plus.
• Outgoing with excellent communication skills.
• Highly organized.
• Ability to learn quickly and grasp engineering concepts as needed to facilitate client communication.
• Dedication and commitment, including follow-through, punctuality and results orientation.
• Ability to work full time in one of the company's two offices when not traveling to client sites.
• Willingness to travel across the United States in pursuit of new opportunities.
