Summary:

As Director, Workforce Planning you will provide analytical and consultative expertise enabling leaders in the Operations, Finance and Human Resource function to improve decision making regarding resource allocation and talent planning that supports long-term business planning and in year fiscal targets. Y ou will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our workforce strategy within the senior living industry. This role is responsible for labor modeling, scheduling optimization, and workforce planning initiatives, ensuring the seamless alignment of staffing resources with the unique needs of our residents and communities.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of location decisions on staffing, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.

Analyzes trends and captures input critical to accurate forecasting; provides analysis for forecasting and capacity planning. Compares actual results to forecasts weekly, monthly, and annual basis to ensure appropriate staffing levels. Makes recommendations based on results for development/adjustment of staffing plans. With strategic direction, develops processes to aid in the analysis of new and existing programs to increase forecasting and staffing accuracy.

Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of scheduling to ensure in alignment of company-wide processes and procedures to achieve support key performance indicators.

Defines staffing solutions to match the capacity with workload, considering the learning curve, vacations, training needs, attrition, subject to operational and financial objectives. Communicate the hiring needs accordingly to the time needed.

Lead the workforce management team in staffing optimization including planning for off-line activities to support operations needs (i.e., training, one-on-ones, and meetings)

Develop and maintain sophisticated labor and staffing models to forecast staffing requirements based on resident needs, industry trends, and regulatory guidelines in order to reduce turnover by 10%. Analyze historical data and industry benchmarks to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement in workforce efficiency.

In partnership with the Operational Strategy Team leverage the created labor model to identify where there are opportunities for efficiency and new capacity to effectively implement new processes and programs, while sustaining the core business.

Develop, own and implement a comprehensive workforce planning tools and framework, aligning staffing levels with business objectives.

Lead the analysis of workforce trends, demographic shifts, and market conditions to inform strategic decision-making.

Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs, skill requirements, and resource allocation across various functions and locations.

Oversee the development of workforce models, scenario planning, and forecasting to anticipate future workforce needs.

Develop KPIs, dashboards and tracking mechanisms to monitor the success of program launches and ongoing adoption. Share insights and leverage them to drive decision making, action and ongoing process improvement for better outcomes.

Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement and mobilize a comprehensive workforce planning strategy that aligns with AlerisLife's business objectives. Promote a culture of accountability within the organization to drive workforce planning utilization and positive outcomes measuring the efforts around workforce planning goals.

Assess and address staffing gaps, needs, full time/part time allocation, and surplus, recommending adjustments to optimize resource allocation

Develop scalable criteria for workforce expansion or contraction based on occupancy levels, resident acuity, and other relevant factors.

Collaborate with various departments, including Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology, to ensure seamless integration of workforce planning initiatives across the organization.

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of workforce planning methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Strategic mindset and the ability to align workforce and location strategies with overall business objectives.

Demonstrated experience building valued and trusted relationships with your clients and partners.

Acts with integrity, professionalism, and able to handle confidential information and issues with discretion and sound judgment.

Strong business acumen, Flexibility, and intellectual curiosity

Experience in project management and program creation, roll-out and implementation across multiple locations. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.

Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to motivate, direct, and develop team members to be efficient and effective.
