Manager - Claims

The Manager - Claims is responsible for implementing efficient claims management procedures and establishing protocols for successful claims resolution for all commercial insurance policies through delegation, escalation, or direct involvement to help reduce Inspire Brands' cost of risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the management of property and casualty claims programs for all brands with company restaurant locations
Manage third-party claims administrator and insurance carrier claim resources, conduct quarterly claims reviews, develop special handling instructions, and manage contractual TPA issues
Provide direction, oversight, supervision and coaching of claims management team to ensure claims are resolved accurately, efficiently and at minimal cost
Identify and recommend programs and processes to effectively manage continuous improvement of post-loss claims management
Develop, implement and maintain claims analytics to ensure claims management team is operating effectively
Monitor claims assignments and activities to balance workload and create efficiencies
Collaborate with internal stake holders such as Safety Programs Manager, Training leaders, Operations leaders, and others, to support the implementation of safety initiatives and training throughout all brands
Relay information and make recommendations concerning significant claims trends or practices to HR Business Partners and Operations leaders
Establish actuarial benchmarks for monitoring yearly claims performance
Remain current on multi-state workers' compensation and general liability industry trends
Confer with Litigation Director on claims-related legal updates
Support Risk Management department on risk-related projects
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, defense counsel and other external parties related to claims process
Manage Support Center level workers' compensation claims
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION Required Minimum: 4-year degree
Preferred: Risk Management & Insurance
Required Minimum: 7+ years experience working in claims management environment
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES Proven knowledge and experience in multi-state workers' compensation laws, rules, and regulations
Solid knowledge of laws, rules and regulations for dram shop, products liability, premises liability, and automobile liability
Advanced knowledge of insurance policies and terms, especially commercial general liability, and automobile insurance
Demonstrated skills in effective decision making, negotiating, problem solving, and process improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation experience
Basic knowledge of risk management and claim information systems
