About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director, Development to lead the establishment of multi-year contributions, identify new funding sources, and manage current donors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team dedicated to achieving the site's fundraising goals, including major gift solicitation, grant writing, and event planning. This role also involves leading the site's external communications and marketing efforts, serving on the site leadership team, and driving and supporting site-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a highly effective storyteller and relationship builder, with a proven track record in fundraising, and will work in close collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board's Development Committee to develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan.Basic qualifications for the Managing Director, Development position at the company include a minimum of 5 years' of progressive fundraising experience, a strong management background, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, belonging, inclusion, and equity. The role requires a leader with a passion for the company's mission, the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and a proven ability to meet and exceed fundraising goals. Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship building skills are essential, as is the ability to work with a diverse group of staff and stakeholders. Experience in marketing, communications, and with fundraising CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, is a plus. The candidate should be a strategic thinker, a creative problem solver, and a proactive individual who can inspire and engage potential donors.
