VP Operations oversees numerous critical departments including Pharmacy, Lab, Emergency Management, Security, FNS, EVS, transport, volunteers, guest services, parking. This role covers East Jefferson, lakeside and the downtown ER.
Your Everyday
Service:
- Develops and fosters collaboration between clinical departments, divisions, medical staff leadership and other affiliated services to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling the hospital's goals and objectives.
- Monitors hospital activities to ensure that patient care and operational needs are met appropriately.
- Provides management and guidance for all assigned areas.
- Represents the administration of the hospital on medical staff and hospital committees. Attends meetings of the Board of Trustees and subcommittee of the Board, as necessary.
People:
- Oversees major workforce and resource decisions for the hospital.
- Works through the management team and medical leadership of the hospital, serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization regarding quality goals and objectives, while analyzing and utilizing information to develop and support management decisions.
- Communicates hospital priorities and goals.
Growth:
- Develops new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance. Develops policies as appropriate communicates policies and objectives to the department heads and other administrative staff.
- Fosters systems, program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, physician relationships, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus-building.
- Coordinates hospital-wide performance improvement initiatives.
- Creates and implements goals and objectives for assigned areas. Responsible for preparation, development and implementation of budgets for assigned areas.
Financial:
- Monitors, reviews and plans all hospital trends, statistics and financial information.
- Participates in the selection of outside vendors or independent contractors utilized for department services and participates in developing contracts.
- Develops, coordinates and monitors departmental services with associated quality assurance standards.

Minimum:
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of healthcare administration experience in a large and complex setting with direct responsibility for cost/revenue centers, designing and implementing business plans and managing staff.
5 years of experience leading complex strategic initiatives, which impact multiple service lines and levels of leadership.
5 years of progressive responsibility in progressively responsible management position.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration or a closely related field is required
Preferred: Master's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration or related field
