STRIVE Boston is a workforce development program that provides trauma-informed training and coaching services for people with barriers to employment. STRIVE helps people realize their potential to find and keep jobs that provide sustainable livelihoods and personal growth. STRIVE Boston is building out a career pathway training program that will connect people to quality jobs in the health care, banking, early childhood education, and bio-manufacturing sectors. The 12- 16 week program includes technical training and certification, professional development, and proactive coaching specifically designed to support low-income Black and Latinx adults . Our goal is to reach people who have historically been underserved by workforce training programs, despite well-intentioned efforts to do so. Building on STRIVE’s exp erience working with people of color in Boston’s high-pover ty neighborhoods, and partnering with the highly regarded Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), experts in technical training, we will create a p ipeline for participants to join Boston’s healthcare workforce as well as Early Childhood Education Training, Animal Care Technician, and Pharmacy Technician Training . Employers with vacant positions are partnering with us to build the training and job placement pipeline . STRIVE participants who break through into these gro wth industries will benefit from long-term employment with good pay and opportunities for career advancement. In this position, you w ill lead recruitment efforts , case manageme nt , data collection, and s ervice delivery for t he new p rogram . The Case Manager will be part of an inte grated Core Team that will connect daily and weekly through virtual and in person program meetings . This is a 40 h our per week in-person position .

What You'll Do:

Assist with all STRIVE recruitment efforts including intake interviews, neighborhood canvassing, visits to courts and welfare centers; and liaison with churches, community centers and social service organizations.

Conduct orientation sessions, providing information to potential candidates and encouraging them to begin the application process.

Work with candidates to assess their interest in and eligibility for targeted career pathways and training pipelines.

Provide weekly support to all participants as they move throughout the program components and into post-placement follow up.

Provide intensive case management that begins at assessment and is strength-based, trauma-informed, and participant-driven.

Works collaboratively with participants to ensure they can meet their training and employment goals.

Provide clients with one-on-one support, group support, daily or weekly check-ins, problem-solving, dealing with workplace conflict, navigating issues of race/ethnicity in the workplace, brainstorming solutions to any barriers that may arise.

Ensure that clients provide the required intake documents and complete the application process.

Document up to date relevant client information and outcomes in the Apricot Database system.

Monitor clients during the follow up period to gauge the outcomes of services provided.

Complete other tasks as assigned or needed.

Requirements:

High school diploma required, Bachelor degree in Social Work or Bachelor’s in related field preferred.

Overall knowledge of basic individual and group counseling skills a plus. Life skills and experience will also be taken into consideration.

Self starter, able to work well both independently and with partner groups.

Must have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.

Bilingual (English/Haitian Creole or Spanish) is helpful.

Transportation and Valid Driver's License.
