We are looking for an Information Systems Specialist. Under general direction, the Information Systems Specialist supports organization-wide systems infrastructure for the organization. The Specialist will also provide troubleshooting and general IT support for users across the organization, including assistance with new staff workstation set-ups, equipment malfunctions and replacements, software problems, upgrades, etc. Additional areas of responsibility include coordination of IT services with support vendors, data collection, reporting & analysis, as well as sourcing for a variety of equipment and software needs.
Essential Functions:
Serve as one of the day-to-day liaisons with the IT support vendor (Alternative Technology), including monitoring ticket response and completion.
Solicit IT needs from staff and set priorities weekly in conjunction with the supervisor and other IT support staff.
Maintain a document for tracking current and outstanding IT needs.
Provide troubleshooting and general support for IT issues that are urgent (impacts current operations) or can be resolved quickly (15-30 mins) including workstations, servers, and networking equipment. Not urgent or more lengthy solutions are currently referred to the IT, support vendor.
Oversee and serve as internal subject matter expert for the organization-wide phone system, also managed by the IT support vendor.
Serve as liaison with outside vendors; arrange for technical support and user training as necessary and appropriate.
Initiate and support internal software program upgrades.
Research new equipment and technology for existing and emerging needs.
Stay current with industry changes and improvements in hardware and software applications.
Provide sourcing for a variety of equipment and software needs including different GPS units, cellular phones, cellular phone boosters, tablets, printers, copiers, etc.
In conjunction with the management team, research, plan, and/or implement technology solutions to enhance the organization's operational needs and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate, review, and participate with technical and professional staff in data collection and analyses to achieve operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of industry-specific software programs is desired.
High level of experience with MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook, as well as database experience.
Strong analytic skills and the ability to convert data into useful information for decision-making and reporting purposes.
Ability to work independently, troubleshoot and follow through on solutions.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Well organized and able to handle multiple deadlines.
Able to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Able to apply good judgment in a fast-paced and quickly-changing environment, managing multiple tasks and coordinating with various individuals while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and the public.
Ability to work on-site in San Rafael 5 days/week.
BA or BS degree in a business-related field is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
$26-$35 per hour (depending on experience).
