Job Overview - Senior Property Accountant:
Step into an exciting opportunity as a Senior Property Accountant with our client’s dynamic Boston team. In this high-impact role, you will collaborate with various departments, driving seamless cross-functional operations. Location: Boston, MA
Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000/year + bonus
Schedule:9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Property Accountant:
Financial Statements: Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, variance analyses, property/tenant statistics, and general ledger reconciliations.
Cash Distribution: Prepare cash distribution worksheets to determine if a distribution to the partners is warranted.
Budget Preparation: Prepare annual budgets for properties and respond to any questions from outside auditors.
Tenant and Client Interaction: Respond to inquiries and questions from tenants and internal clients regarding assigned properties.
Billing: Prepare Common Area Maintenance, Real Estate Tax tenant billings, and Percentage Rent billings quarterly and/or monthly.
Supervision: Review the work of less experienced Property Accountants, provide training, give feedback, and possibly participate in annual reviews.
Qualifications for the Senior Property Accountant:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of general ledger/financial statement preparation in a similar environment.
Skills: Ability to quickly learn and master various software, maintain both GAAP and tax reporting for complex properties, and understand all components of tenant leases.
