Specialty Sales Consultant

The Specialty Sales Consultant will lead all specialty sales training for new hires as well as seasoned OSC’s, specific strategic account managers, new prospect(s) and ABB OPTICAL GROUP. Special emphasis will be on building specialty training relationships with RSM’s, OSC’s, Strategic Account Managers, specialty consultation and customer service as well as attending and following up on leads from trade shows, boot camps, wet labs and any specialty meetings whether virtual or in person. Key focus should be on revenue growth, new product launches and all touch points between customer and ABB OPTICAL GROUP.
Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
Establish a “hunter” mentality for specialty sales by reviewing data, gathering leads from marketing campaigns, OSC submissions and current CRM system (hubspot) or any other available resource.
Manage and keep current all new specialty materials that reside in BTC including price lists, promos, account support materials and any other useful tool for our sales team or customers.
Identify opportunities for growth and help create opportunities to grow our accounts specialty business while training the responsible OSC and RSM teams.
Working with and through our Strategic team to keep these large groups up to speed with new products, pricing, warranties, specials, and any added value we can offer to grow their specialty business.
Strategic Account Engagement- Training onboarding, monthly or quarterly 1x1s, sales tracking, SVP presentations to potential accounts, price increase communication and follow though. Support Strategic Directors and the Strategic support staff.
Responsible for long-term relationship building between the customer, ABB OPTICAL GROUP and other professional organizations (Vendors, Buying Groups, Consultants, etc.)
Responsible for new product or program onboarding-virtually or in person-with key stakeholders to launch specialty lens initiatives with the sales teams.
Responsible for training of OSC’s, RSM’s, Strategic Account Managers, and GP Customer Service and Consultation on new products being launched in the marketplace.
Attend RSM Quarterly Team Meetings with SVP Director to create a continuing and constant communication thread with RSM‘s and their OSC’s.
Attend weekly regional Team meetings- set times with individual RSM’s.
Provide Sales support in consultation meetings, CSR trainings, wet labs, boot camps, live webinars, and virtual lunch and learns.
Attend weekly SVP marketing meetings and work closely with training team to ensure all updates are sent to sales training team to be updated in BTC.
Attend all Specialty shows and select strategic group meetings.
Will handle all follow through of the lead generation pipeline. Will utilize HubSpot via Leads and Notes to collaborate with OCS and assure alignment with Specialty lens division.
Responsible for New Specialty Product sales support training
Responsible for new and ongoing OCS Specialty Sales training- will attend new OCS training and attend quarterly Intermediate Sales Training classes to meet with new hires and build relationships.
Will be responsible for Strategic Account Onboarding-Working closely with all our strategic account managers to successfully convert and get new strategic accounts up to speed on the ABB Specialty portfolio and ordering procedures.
Work with Marketing team to our specialty vendors for advertising specialty products in our catalog, co-op approvals on specialty programs, and educational support.
This role will focus on onboarding process for all new accounts while continually foster account retention and a positive relationship between the account and their OSC.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years in upward mobile sales positions, business development within the Optical industry experience and extensive industry relationships ideal
Directly relevant experience building long-term relationships that make clients successful
Experience in training and development
Proficiency in General PC applications; MS Office applications, and CRM systems, preferably HubSpot
Excellent verbal and written communications
Desired Qualifications Sales experience within the specialty vision industry
Strong organizational awareness and sales training ability
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong diplomacy and tact when acting as a bridge between customer and ABB OPTICAL Group
Background in business strategy, Supply Chain and retail sales
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills targeted to Director, VP and C-level audiences
Demonstrated capability of developing needs-based proposals
Ability to help analyze and structure business terms and ensure legal documents reflect those terms
Excellent organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and quality
TRAVEL: This position requires up to 50% travel For US Candidates
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
