Position Summary:
Prominent and well-established family law practice is actively seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and motivated Associate Attorney in family law to join their team. This highly regarded law practice provides legal services on family issues relating to divorce, same-sex divorce, child custody, child support, spousal alimony, property division, domestic violence, and prenuptial & postnuptial agreements.
General Responsibilities:
Complete strategy meetings with clients at the inception of representation by the firm;
Advise clients on their legal options in determining the course of litigation and/or settlement;
Review and respond to correspondence from clients and opposing counsel;
Prepare trial briefs for clients.
Prepare case strategy and case strategy team oversight while giving direction on all complex cases, including cases set for long cause hearings;
Represent clients in litigation at various hearings;
Sit 2nd or 1st chair in trials, as needed;
Education & Professional Requirements:
Licensed by the California State Bar;
Minimum of 3.5 years' experience in family law is required;
Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) preferred;
Extensive experience in high-net-worth divorce;
Courtroom experience, completed trial advocacy class/programs, and/or participated in trial competitions;
Strong legal research and writing skills;
Attention to detail;
Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations;
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;
Salary/Compensation:
Starting salary is 225K (+/- | DOE/DOQ). Comprehensive health benefits package, generous PTO, paid parking onsite, yearly reviews, annual salary increases and bonuses, etc.
