Description
The senior project manager will be responsible for verifying the project scope and objectives with the requestor. Based on the scope of the project, the project manager will request a project team and create a project plan that includes tasks, durations, and resource assignments. They will maintain communication with the team and stakeholders to share project status, manage risks and issues, and escalate where appropriate.
A successful candidate will work with the requesting department and team to ensure the project delivers the scope of work that was requested while staying within budget and timeline. In addition, they will ensure best practices are being followed and suggest changes for improvements to PMO procedures. They will work with the team to deliver the functionality necessary to complete the project. In addition, they will coordinate with other project teams when necessary to create opportunities or avoid challenges created by dependencies. PM will work with resources in leadership to ensure project meets company's portfolio's strategic goals.
The ideal candidate would have experience in multiple methodologies for delivering a project.

Qualifications
•Prior experience in project management - 6 + years
•Solid internal and external communication skills (written and verbal)
•Attention to detail and organization
•Mentor in waterfall and agile methodologies for business and technology
•Resourcing and timeline negotiation
•Expertise in conflict management
•Expert in project change management
•Aligns with Stakeholders and addresses areas of opportunity
•SDLC/Scrum/ITIL knowledge
•Business & IT strategy experience
Preferred Qualifications:
•PMP/Scrum Master certification
•General insurance knowledge
•PM or IT bachelor's degree
•Experience in proposal writing
•Experience in vendor/software selection
•Experience working with state/federal government projects
